All activities must be paid in advance as we must pay the vendors in advance. All payments at the Feast must be in cash as we will have no way to process checks or travellers checks. There is a line on the payment form for donations as some of you have asked about donating extra money to help others attend activities. This is strictly up to you and will be kept private. Scenic Train Ride

Sunday, September 26th, from 1:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

You have a special opportunity to take a scenic trip on the Alaska Railway. The railway is closed at this time of year to the general public and only open for private charters. Our group was too small to make a private charter cost effective, but our friends for the United Church of God have booked a charter and invited us to join them. This scenic trip on the AKRR will go from Anchorage, through the beautiful Turnagain Arm, to the glacial mountains area near Portage Glacier and then on to Spencer Glacier for viewing and pictures.  An excellent box lunch meal will be included as well. A cash bar is also available on the train. The trip will be about 5½ hours long—from 1 to 6:30 p.m.  The cost for the trip/meal is $66 per adult. Those ages 4 to 12 are $60 a person. Children 3 and under are free.

Single’s ATV Ride and Hike

Monday, September 27th, from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Singles will need to go change clothes right after services and meet down in the lobby by 1:15p.m. You will be given sandwiches and drinks to have while you drive about 45 minutes down the scenic Seward Highway to the Bird Creek area of the Chugach National Forest. You will then divide into two groups. While one group rides 4-wheel ATV’s, the other group will take a guided hike along Penguin Creek where there may still be salmon running. After about two hours, the groups will meet back at the starting point and, after a light snack, switch and do the opposite activity. This beautiful area has abundant wildlife including moose, elk, bears, and eagles. You may want to stop and have dinner at one of the restaurants overlooking the Turnagain Arm on your way back to the hotel. This activity does not include transportation, so you will have to get together and work out rides with those that have automobiles. The cost for the lunch, snacks, ATV ride and hike is $110.00 per person.

Wildlife/Glacier Cruise

Tuesday, September 28th, from 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

You’re going to have to get up early to do this trip! Participants will need to leave the hotel no later than 6:00 a.m. in order to make the approximate two hour drive to Seward, and be on board our private charter boat at the Seward marina for an 8:30 a.m. departure. This cruise will go all around scenic Resurrection Bay. During the cruise you will see a variety of wildlife that may include whales, dolphins, sea lions, sea otters, bald eagles, puffins and other birds. A delicious all-you-can-eat buffet lunch featuring prime rib and Alaskan salmon will be served on the boat. The boat will return to the marina around 1:00 p.m. This should give everyone ample time to drive back to Anchorage, clean up and be at services by 5:00 p.m. at the Millennium Hotel.  The cost for this cruise, not including transportation, is $67.00 per adult and $33.50 per child 2-12 years old.

For those who need transportation, or just don’t want to drive, there will be transportation to Seward in a chartered motor coach or bus. The bus will leave the Millennium Hotel at 5:45 a.m., so be prompt. The cost for the bus will be $40.00 per person round trip.

Family Day

Wednesday, September 29th, from 1:00p.m. - 5:00 p.m. ***NEW***DOG SLED RIDES***

Family Day will be held at beautiful Kincaid Park. The park sits up on a hill overlooking Anchorage and the Cook Inlet, with a view of Mt. McKinley if the weather is clear. There will be a sumptuous barbecue lunch featuring wild Alaskan Salmon caught by one of our members. A variety of outdoor sporting activities will be available, children’s crafts and games, as well as beautiful walking trails. Also, one of our Alaskan members has arranged for Mr. Joe Redington Jr. the son of The Father of the Iditarod (Joe Redington  Sr.- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Redington) to bring his dog sled team to Kincaid Park to give free rides.  If the weather is a little brisk for you, there is plenty of indoor seating where you can fellowship and play games. Hopefully everyone will come to this activity on the last day of the Feast. The cost for this afternoon of food, fun and fellowship is $15.00 per adult and $10.00 for children 4-12. Children 3 and under are free.
